What is a hard-to-borrow (HTB) stock?+
A hard-to-borrow stock is one where short-selling demand exceeds the available supply of shares to borrow. HTB stocks typically carry a daily borrow fee (the "locate rate"). Palms Securities works with premier locate desks to source HTB inventory at competitive rates, giving our traders access that is typically reserved for institutional accounts.
How does intraday leverage work?+
With 10× intraday leverage, a $5,000 account can control up to $50,000 in buying power during market hours. Leverage resets at end of day — any positions held overnight revert to standard margin. Leverage amplifies both gains and losses, so risk management is essential. Our platform enforces real-time P&L limits to help protect your account.
How quickly can I deposit and withdraw funds?+
Deposits via debit/credit card and digital wallets are available in your account instantly. Bank wire deposits typically clear the same business day. Withdrawals via bank wire are processed the same business day. Card refunds take 1–2 business days. There are no deposit or withdrawal fees charged by Palms Securities.

Preferred by high-volume and prop-style traders who need institutional-grade order management and FIX connectivity. Our proprietary Palms Algo Trader is in development.
What does FSC registered mean for my account?+
The Financial Services Commission (FSC) of Mauritius is the regulatory body that licenses and oversees Palms Securities. Registration with the FSC means we are subject to ongoing regulatory oversight, compliance requirements, and client protection obligations. It provides you with a formal regulatory framework and a channel for complaints if needed.
How do liquidity rebates work?+
When you place a limit order that sits in the book and gets filled by another trader (you "add" liquidity), exchanges pay a rebate — typically $0.001–$0.003 per share depending on the route. When you "take" liquidity with a market order, you pay a small fee. By routing orders strategically through rebate-generating routes, active traders can generate meaningful credits that offset commission costs.
